Jesus Christ, Surpasses All!

Ref;Colosians 1;15-23.(NIV).

Jesus Christ is;the image of the invisible God.This mean that if you see Jesus ,you have seen God the father. This is what Jesus told Nathaniel, you see me you have seen the father because the Father and the Son are one.Jesus is the firstborn over all the creation. And by Him all things were created.Things in heaven and things on earth.Visible and invisible.Thrones or powers or rulers or authorities. All things were crated by him and for him.He is before all things, and in him all things hold together. He is the head of the body, the church. He is the begining and the first born from among the dead,so that in every thing He might have the supremancy.God was pleased to have all his fulness dwell in Him so as to reconcile to himself all things on earth or things in heaven by making peace through his blood shed on the cross. Jesus is evidently the enbodiment of God th father and this makes it easy for each one of us to identify with the Father who is the source of all things. He has entrusted every thing to the Son,Jesus Christ who has been revealed for our sake.Through Jesus,we are able to know the true God,the created things and even ourselves. We understand ourselves beter rather,we descover ourselves better when we know Jesus better. We therefore gain victory over self, sin and satan ,just as Jesus over came, for He is the perfect man whom God sent to overcome what the first man failled to overcome. As He is so we are in this world. No wonder Paul the apostle calls us more than conquerors. Now,how do you see Jesus?Who is He to you?

Jesus,The True Vine.

 (John;15;1-17)

The word of God more often than not uses trees to plainly explain spiritual truth to us. Trees are naturally impressed in our natural mind which is closely related to our souls because when God created man, He put him in the garden of Eden full of trees, consequently, man does not struggle to relate to trees. Therefore Jesus chooses to use the vine to illustrate His relation to us in a natural way so as to leave a lasting impression in our hearts. He begins by making it very clear in a bold statement that He is the true vine. This opens our minds to another side of the statement that there is a false vine for Him to be the true vine. For now, we will not focus on the false vine our interest now is in the true vine. As the true vine, He qualifies us to be true branches as long as we are connected to Him. The only sign that we are connected to Him is our fruitfulness. This connection is facilitated by our love for Him. If we love Him we will obey what He commands. The only way to express our love for Him is to obey Him. Our obedience to Him will cultivate the right relationship with Him and it is this relationship that welds us to Him. Simply stated, this relationship grafts us to Him and consequently, we become part of Him in form of branches. It is the branches that bear the fruit. It is Him who produces the fruit while we remain united to Him we only bear the fruit! It does not take your effort. It takes His effort. We only bear the fruit after He has produced it. The production of fruit through us by Him is made possible by the indwelling of the Holy Spirit. Paul the apostle speaking to the church in Galatia gives a list of the fruit of the spirit. He singularizes the fruit and gives a list of the fruit of the Holy Spirit, it is amazing. Even Jesus singularizes fruit-bearing and says remaining in Him will make us bear fruit. This means the fruit is one. For example, an orange tree bears oranges. This means every orange in an orange tree is an orange! It is not oranges! Each fruit we bear is a fruit of the Holy Spirit, it is not  fruits of the Holy Spirit because Holy Spirit is one. He bears one fruit. The fruit we bear when we remain connected to Jesus will be a manifestation of the very life and nature of Jesus himself. Since Jesus is one, it will be one fruit of the person and nature of Jesus revealed in us and through us. Jesus does not change. He is the same yesterday today and for evermore, so our fruit will remain. It will weather the storm of any spiritual climate. It will affect more people and become more fruit which will, in turn, affect many people and become much fruit! Fruitful trees attract people, so as people are attracted to you, show them more of Jesus in you and let them enjoy more and more fruit. Have a fruitful life in Jesus' Name.

Jesus,The Great I AM!

Exodus,3.13 -16.{NIV}

Moses is running away from his people, the Israelites, because as a man, he had seen the suffering of his people and tried to deliver them from the Egyptian bondage by the arm of flesh. This led to a serious problem as the very people he tried to deliver rose against him and to deliver him self from their anger, Moses ran to Median plains and decides to keep himself busy with sheep keeping. In the spiritual realm, God develops interest in Moses probably, because He sees the desire to end Egyptian captivity for the Israelites. While Moses is still busy keeping sheep in the backside of the desert, God decides to reveal Himself to Moses. First God captures the attention of Moses through the burning bush which was not being consumed. Please note that burning bushed in the desert is not a new phenomena because due to intense heat of the desert, occasionally fire breaks out in bushes. However, in the case of the bush that captured the attention of Moses, the bush was not being consumed like in the case of other bush fires. When Moses drew near to see what storage sight was this, a bush burning and is not consumed, God decides to speak from among the burning bush. God introduces Himself to Moses in a way he could understand and tells him that He is the God of Abraham, Isaack and Jacob. In other words, He is not a new and strange God who has come to replace the God of his fore fathers. Moses demands to know more about this God of his father for whom he tried to fight and deliver His people from Egyptian bondage. Then God reveals to Moses the fact that, He is Who He is. In other words, He is the same. He does not change. He is the solution to every question. He is what He has been. Jesus much later when He was talking to the Pharisees and the teachers of the law, He tells them, before Abraham was, He was. And that He is who He Is. That is Jesus is The I AM. It is Jesus who delivered the children of Israel from Egyptian bondage .It is Jesus who commanded the nation of Israel to victory over the nations which rose against them. Jesus is the I AM. Who is Jesus to you today?

Jesus,The Power And Wisdom of God.

1Corinthians;1;18-24.(NIV)

Although God does not wish any to perish, when you look keenly in the scriptures, there seems there are those destined to perish. That is why the Bible talks about the son of perdition, those who are perishing, and so forth. The message of the cross is foolishness to the people of the kind mentioned above. However, to us who are being saved, it is the power of God. The message of the cross is; that Christ died, Christ was buried, and that on the third day he arose from the grave for the grave could not lay hold on Him. He arose! He has risen!Hallelujah! This is the summary of the message of the cross. Now the big question is; where is the scholar? where is the philosopher of this age? God has made the wisdom of this age foolishness. Now through the preaching of the power of God, the Gospel, God has saved those who believe. However, we have to be aware of the Jewish and Greek mindsets. The Jewish mindset demands a sign, and the Greek mindset demands wisdom. You don't have to be a Jew or Greek by birth to have this kind of mindset. There are those who say they will believe in Jesus if they see a miracle or if they see a sign. They put a condition before God so as to believe Him. Yet all that needs to be known about God has been made plain to all through the created things, His invisible qualities can be seen through the created things. (Romans;1;20)

Furthermore, others demand that the word of God measure up to their expectations, especially, there earthily wisdom. They want God to appeal to their senses before they can believe Him. This is foolishness in the sight of God. The message is very clear and is written in black and white; that Christ died on the cross, He was buried, on the third day He arose with great triumph, He appeared to about five hundred disciples, and He has also appeared to me! and He will come again on the last day at the shout of the archangel. (1 Corinthians 15;3-8)To those whom God has called, Christ is the Power of God. He is also the Wisdom of God.Who is Jesus to you today?

Jesus,The High Priest.

Hebrews;7;11-28;8;1-6.(NIV)

Perfection of which God requires in us cannot be achieved through the old Testament Levitical order.Levites in the Old Testament were drawn from the tribe of Levi.Due to continued failure of the priests in the Old Testament,it became necessary for God to institute a new order of priesthood, this time in the order of Melchizedek. When there is a change of priesthood, there has to be a change of Law.Our Lord ,Jesus is descended from te tribe of Judah and Moses did not say anything about priests from that tribe. Therefore,Jesus becomes a priest not by regulations but on the basis of indestructible life.Jesus is the High priest in the order of Melchizedek, who had no beginning or end,Melchizedek is mentioned twice in the old Testsment,Genesis;14;18,and Psalm;110;4.Evidently,Melchizedek was a gentile king who worshiped the true God.He was the King of Salem and also served as priest. In Jewish customs,a king was not supporsed to serve also as a priest.Jesus now in the order of Melkizedek, would serve in both offices and consequently,He would be superior to the priests of the Levitical order who were limited by short life span.Jesus holds the position of High Priest for ever, unchangeably.Unlike the leviticle priests who were not allowed to sit down while performing there duty,Jesus the High Priest in the new order has sat down at the right hand of the magesty in heaven. He serves in a sanctuary not man made.He has offered himself once and for all.He interceeds for us.He cares about our weakneses. He is merciful. He is the mediator of the new covenant. This covenant has better promises. He is your priest.Join Him today in His priestly work as He prays for you.You are His assignment today. He is working out every thing for your good as He seeks to fulfil the promises of the New covenant through you.

Jesus,The Seed of The Woman.

In this Photo; Background;Golgotha ,Jerusalem,Old City, where the Seed of the Woman was crucified.

Genesis;3;11-24.(NIV)

Let us flash back and join God in the begining and see what is happenning few days after God has created man in His own image and likeness.God has just finished creating everithing and everything is in perfect contition.Man,who has just been created in the image and likeness of God is putn to be the steward of all creation. He is given instructions on how to conduct himself in the Garden.Man disobeys his creator and goes ahead and eats the forbiden fruit from the tree of Knowlege of Good and Evil.In the Garden of Eden ,which ,if viewed from Eden is in the east of Eden, there are two important trees;the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil, and the Tree of Life.Man had been given instruction not to eat from the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil.He had been give the right to eat from any tree in the Garden including the tree of Life, except the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil. However ,man has been preocupied by the forbiden tree, and consequently, the devil has used this preocupation to decieve man in desobeying the Lord God Almighty. When God discoveres about this deception,He comes looking for man in the Garden.I hear Him thurdering among the gloriously green and tall trees and asking ;whre are you Adam?God is persuing them lovingly with outstretched arms, but Adam full of guilt is getting deeper in the thicket running away from his loving creator.I hear the man answering back to the Lord God Almighty shiveringly, overwhelmed by guilt and saying; The woman you put here with me,is the problem, she has just given me some of the fruit from the tree ,and have already swallowed it,rather I have already eaten it.In  simple terms,Adam is telling his creator,he has already disobeyed him.God in love spares the man the curse but curses the serpent and the ground, however, man is to pay through hard labour and the woman through painful child bearing. Our God is a just God.He has given a fair virdict. He does not stop at that,He provides a solution to the problem man has created.God says there will be enemity between the seed of the woman and the Seed of the Serpent. The seed of the woman will crush the head of the serpent and the serpent will strike the heel of the seed of woman. This has occured on the cross when Jesus is crucified. The serpent is crushed his head. That is why Peter in his epistles says the devil is like a roariong lion looking for someone to devour. When we believe in Jesus, the seed of the woman, the devil is crused for our sake. Then Jesus ushers us to the Tree of life.To get to the Tree of Life one has to pass through The Tree of redemption. The tree of redenption nulifies the effect of the Tree of Kowledge of Good and Evil.

Jesus,The Good Shepherd.

John;10;11( N I V )

Jesus boldly declares who he is in relation to us being the sheep. He makes it clear that He is the good shepherd. This shows us that there are bad shepherds. Jeremiah the prophet talked about them in Jeremiah;23;1-4. The prophet declares woe to the shepherds who are destroying and scattering the sheep of His pasture. He gives a verdict to these shepherds and says because you have scattered and driven away my flock and have not cared for the flock, the Lord will punish them for the evil they have done. The Lord himself will intern gather them to the pasture. This reflects the word of God through apostle Peter when he says Jesus is the chief shepherd, pastors on the other hand are under shepherd and are accountable to the chief shepherd. Jesus sets the example and says He is the good shepherd. As a good Shepherd He takes the lead to lead the flock to the pasture and to the still waters. In Jewish culture, shepherds used to go ahead of the flock and the flock would follow the shepherd. It is time believers learned to follow the shepherd as the shepherd follows the Good Shepherd, Jesus Christ. In our generation, we have people who will hardly follow. They want to lead. They even want to lead the shepherd. That's how we have a generation that behaves like it is in competition with itself. If there is no sense of leadership, the people have no direction, and competition sets in. This kingdom is not about competition. It is about peace, joy, and righteousness. It is not about eating and drinking. It is about power in the Holy Spirit. We need the good shepherd because the wolves are in the rampage. They want to scatter the sheep out of selfish ambitions in order to feast on the flock. The Good Shepherd will scare the wolf away with His staff and guarantee your safety, only if you follow Him.Now the big question is ;who is your Good Shepherd? And ;who is your shepherd? Are you following or are you competing?Do you have under shepherd who is accountable to the Good Shepherd?Or are you scattered and have been preyed on by the wolves? The Good Shepherd is still on the lead.Dare to follow Him and you will find pasture, still waters, safety and rest for your soul.

Jesus,The Gate .

Ref; John;10;1-10.

Jesus uses figures of speech here to explain a key truth about the kingdom of God which

He stands for, and has been preaching about since the time John the Baptist baptized Him and

witnessed about Him, that He is the lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world.

There are key terms associated with these figures of speech. For example; sheep pen, shepherd, gate,

thief, robber, watchman. Speaking the truth in love, Jesus puts it clear that the man who does not enter

the sheep by the gate is a thief and robber. A question now is triggered in our minds; what is the

difference between a thief and a robber? What makes them bad or good? A robber is

someone who commits robbery according to the Oxford dictionary. Robbery is a crime of

taking or attempting to take anything of value by force, the threat of force, or by putting the victim

in fear. A thief will pick something when they are hiding to avoid being seen. A  gate is a

hinged barrier used to close an opening in a wall, fence, or hedge. Jesus entered the sheep

pen by the gate. He is also the gate. He enters and goes out with a catch, all who belong to Him.

He leads them out and they follow Him for they know His voice and they will never follow a

stranger. The place He enters is the house of Israel. He rescues them from the consequences of the law

, Judaism and all forms of dead religion. He then becomes the gate into the kingdom of God and also

shepherded to all those he rescues. Jesus goes ahead to explain the mission of the thief, steal, kill and

destroy. Those who enter by Him, they find salvation. They find life and they have it in full.

Life is measurable. It is determined by how you enter. If you enter life by Jesus, who is the gate to

life, you will get it in full. You find salvation for your souls. Are you struggling to have the life God

promised? The solution is to enter life by the Gate, Jesus Christ of Nazareth.

Jesus,The Bread of Life.

Ref; John;6;25-59.

Jesus is dealing with slippery people. They call Him Rabbi today and tomorrow they call Him a prophet. These are not bad titles to associate with our Master but what Jesus is seeking for is not people to know his titles, but rather the title reveals his person and consequently the title leads us to His person. They are calling him all these questions not because they love Him or are interested in Him, They want more bread because the bread Jesus had provided previously has now gone out of their system. Whatever miracle Jesus does, it points to His person, His nature, and his character. Jesus refocuses the minds of the people and at least for once, they ask the right question; "what must we do to do the works God requires."This is the big question. Jews wanted to do the works of God but they were not interested in God and the one He had sent. This is a trap of the enemy to pre-occupy oneself with works for the work's sake but ignore the Master of all creation. The real work is to work on our unbelief, fear doubt, skepticism, preconceived ideas, and take the word of God to be true in our lives. It is to believe in the written word of God and the living word, Jesus Christ of Nazareth. Instead of us looking for bread or asking Him for bread, He is the bread! If one needs healing, He is the healer. You have Him you have what you need.

Jesus,The Provider.

Ref; John;6;1-15.(NIV)

Jesus crosses to the far shore of the Sea of Galilee. A great multitude comes after Him because they saw the miraculous power of God at work through Him. Jesus goes up on a mountain with his disciples. Around this time, the Passover feast is near. Jesus sees a great number of people coming towards Him. He asks Philip, where shall we buy bread to feed these people? Jesus is all-knowing. He knew what to do but He asks this question to see whether Philip and His disciples knew the ability he has as the son of God. And as the one through whom all things were made. At least there is a small boy in the crowd and Andrew is aware of the boy and what the boy is carrying, two fish and five loaves, but to the crowd this is nothing. But anyhow for conscience's sake, Andrew brings to the attention of Jesus the fact that there was at least something eatable. Jesus ignores their concerns, and orders the people to sit down. There was plenty of grass in the area and this reminds us of Psalm 23;2; He makes me lie down in green pastures. The green pasture is symbolic. It is speaking of divine provision. It is pointing us to the true shepherd, Jesus Christ. He is the provider. whether there is plenty or there is scarcity. Both conditions are nothing to Him for He is the provision itself. Where he is, there is enough for everybody. So do not scramble for your portion. Your provider has you in mind. He has something for you. If it is anointing, He has your portion. Don't covet other people's anointing. If it is a good life, He is the life-giver. Whatever you need, He is equal to the task or challenge you present to Him. With God all things are possible. With thanks to the Lord, who makes all things available, even little is more than enough! To your amazement, there will be a surplus!Hallelujah! When He provides, remember there is no wasting. Collect the surplus.Don't try to make Him something out of His doings. He is who He is. He cannot be defined by bread and fish multiplication. Preachers, when the Lord uses you for His glory. Be careful with the people around you. They will be tempted to make you what God has not made you. Jesus escaped narrowly from being made  the king of Jews so that He may continue multiplying fish and bread for them. They knew too little about the kingdom Jesus advocated for. Remember to retreat to solitary places.A place you can commune with the Father in secret and God who sees in secret will reward you openly and people will glorify Jesus. Jesus is the reason God uses us. Let's give glory to the provider whenever God does something through us.Have you glorified Jesus today? If not, take time to give Him glory for the things He has done through you,in you and around you.He is worthy to be glorified tom day.He is the provider. He is the provision itself.

Jesus,Life Giver.

Ref; John;5;16-30. (NIV).

Jesus is persecuted for healing on the sabbath. This is because, according to Jews, the sabbath was holy

and a day of rest when no one was supposed to work on that day, even the Lord of the sabbath, Jesus

Christ. Therefore, Jesus responds to the persecution by making it clear that, His father is always

working so He too has to keep working. This shows us that, working according to Jesus is to intervene

in the needs of mankind. This intervention overrides keeping the sabbath because man was not

made for the sabbath, but rather the Sabbath was made for man. So Jesus as the son of man, could not

allow the sabbath to rule him. The Jews respond to the position of Jesus with disgust and they plan

even to kill Him because of two things; He was healing on a sabbath and second He was calling

Himself the son of God. About this Jesus makes it very clear that He can do nothing by Himself. He

does what He sees His Father doing. The Father loves the Son and shows Him all He does. Just like in

an ordinary life setting, a father will always show the son what he does. Similarly, Jesus uses this

parallel to make it clear about His relationship with the father. The Father raises the dead and gives

them life, even so, the son gives life to whomsoever  He is pleased with. All judgment is vested on

Jesus so that all may honor the Son just as they honor the father.

Those who do not honor the son, they don't honor the Father who sent him.

He who hears the words of Jesus, and believes in the one who sent Him has eternal life already and will

not be condemned. He has passed from death to life. Those who believe in the words of Jesus and in

the one who sent Him, God the Father, they have life eternal. A time has come when the dead will hear

the voice of the son of God, and those who hear will live. As the Father has life in Himself he has

graded the Son to have life in himself. and He has graded Him the authority to judge because He is the

Son of Man. This life overcomes the grave and goes to eternity. A time will come when all who are in

the grave will hear His voice and come out. Those who have done evil will be condemned. Those who

have done good will rais to life. Jesus seeks to please the one who sent Him.

Jesus,The Healer.

 John;5;1-15. (NIV)

Jesus goes to Jerusalem for a feast of the Jews. Near the sheep gate, there is a pool which is called Bethsaida in Aramaic. It is surrounded by five covered colonnades. A great number of invalid people sit here. A particular invalid man has been sitting here for over thirty-eight years now. Jesus takes note of him and realizes that this man has been in this condition for a long, long time now. Jesus breaks the silence of the invalid atmosphere near the pool of waiting and asks a mind bogging question."do you want to get well."This question gets the invalid by surprise for he had never had a question of that nature. Since he has been waiting for someone to help him get into the pool when the angel troubles the waters, he expected someone to ask him whether he needed to be helped into the water once the water is troubled. On most occasions, we miss the visit of God when we have programmed ourselves to be asked particular questions pertaining to our needs. Where Jesus is, the rule changes. God is always in the move and will choose to act in a different way in a given situation so that we do not create a formula of how God is expected to behave in certain circumstances. What this invalid man needs now is not how he is healed, but rather the healing itself is what matters. Instead of framing his mind to wait for anybody to help him into the pool when the waters are troubled, he should have framed his mind to be healed, anyhow, in any way, whichever the method! and of course in a way that brings glory to God. If we will ever experience Jesus the healer in our life, we have to reprogram our minds by the word of God through the help of the Holy Spirit to think right so as to act right in conformity to the will of God, not by the st rules which in most occasions bring glory to the rule or the formula. The invalid has a formulated way to be healed. Jesus ignores the invalid expectations because they were as invalid as the invalid himself! and acts to save this man's situation. Jesus commands the man to "Get up! pick up your mat and walk." The invalid does what he has been tolled and his obedience helps him out of his situation. Your obedience to what the Lord commands you to do will release the power of God and cause the heavenly host to act on your behalf.

Jesus,The Messiah!

The critics of Jesus ministry had just been thinking that Jesus was baptizing but in actual fact,

it was His disciples who where baptizing. Jesus ,now ,after His disciples finished baptizing has

to leave Judea and go back to Galilee. He has to pass through Samaria for God has prepared

an assignment for Him there. He comes to a town in Samaria called Sychar near the plot of

ground Jacob had given to His son Joseph  Jacob's well is located here and because Jesus was

tired due to the long journey,

He sits down there by the well. This shows us that Jesus had a body just like you and me for

he could get tired. It is around noon by the time Jesus is getting to the well so probably it it

hot also. A Samaritan woman comes to draw water at around this time and finds Jesus resting

by the well. It was not usual for women to go to the well alone for fetching water is

considered a social activity by the Samaritans. This woman is stigmatized evidently by are way

of life. Amazingly, she finds a man sited by the well. By look he looks like any other man so

when Jesus engages the woman in a discussion, she thinks she is about to get a man like the

others she has been drawing into fornication. To make the matter worse, the disciples of Jesus

had gone to look for food, so Jesus and the woman, were there by themselves.

The environment looks suitable for private talk but Jesus seizes this opportunity to give a

worship talk, and from there He reveals who He is to the woman. Jesus breaks the silence by

asking for water to drink from the Jacob's well. By look Jesus looks like a Jew to the woman,

and traditionally, Jews and Samaritans can't mix and can't drink from the same well. The

woman is not understanding clearly who is speaking to her. By look she concludes that Jesus

is Just a Jew. She is not seeing beyond the Jewish body for Jesus took a body like the

descendants of Abraham. She is not also understanding the gift of God. The well she has

come to draw water from is symbolically gift of God. Jacobs' well is deep ,and to draw the

water from there one needs something to draw the water. The woman cannot understand

that Jesus is able to draw the water of life. Jesus is making it clear here the fact that, he who

drinks the water He is giving will never thirst again rather this water will well up to eternal life.

This is the kind of water we need. Men and women are thirsty for the wrong things which

never satisfy. Jesus satisfies and gives eternal life. When the woman opened up to the living

water ,Jesus drops the bombshell, "Go get your husband and come back" Jesus makes this

request with understanding for He knows all things. The

woman is now very sincere to Him because she needs the living water.

Jesus said to her, “You are right when you say you have no husband. Jesus makes it clear to the woman that what she says, that she has no husband is true and that the one she thinks she has is not her husband. By this statement, the woman redefines her definition of Jesus from just a Jew to a prophet. Then she introduces the idea of worship and the place of worship. To this Jesus responds with divine wisdom by beginning from the known to the unknown. He makes it clear to the woman now that she knows He is a prophet, that a time is coming and the time is now when true worshippers will not worship on that mountain or in Jerusalem. But rather they will worship God in the Spirit and truth. After the insight on what worship is all about, the woman make new discovery and says, when Messiah will come He will tell them all things. To this Jesus says He is the Messiah the woman is waiting for. This shows us if we are to worship acceptably, we have to know Jesus prophetically and as the Truth. This is possible by the power of the Holy Spirit. As a prophet ,He will reveal to you the times and seasons of God. As Messiah, He will tell you about yourself and you will discover you need the Him to save you. Know, how do you know Him.

Jesus is able to meet us as we go about our businesses. Once He meets us He begins a process to engage us and lead us to know Him so that We may worship acceptably. It begins with Thirst for him, Then see Him through the prophetic eye. This leads you to know Him as the messiah. Messiah means the anointed one. In Greek ,Christ. Which means the anointed one

Who is Jesus,Eye witness Report.

John;3;22-36
Jesus goes to the Judean countryside and spends time with His disciples and is baptized. He seems to help in water baptist before He ventures into His mandate to preach about the kingdom of God and baptizing with the Holy Spirit and fire. This shows us that Jesus helped in baptizing in water at some point. John was also baptizing at Aenon near Salim because there was plenty of water, and more people were coming and being baptized. This was before John the Baptist was put in prison. As John the Baptist and Jesus went about their God-given mandate, an argument arises about who is greater than who. This is a generational problem, even in our generation people want to know the greatest preacher around, the greatest ministry around, the greatest church around, the greatest title around, and so forth. People care little about the mandate one is given by God to mankind, but they focus on the greatness or smallness of the vessel. It is not the greatness or the smallness of the vessel that counts, it is rather the greatness of God that matters. God uses us to reveal himself not us and others. He covers us under his wings and uses us for His glory so that He may be seen through us. John in response to these arguments says a man can only receive what is given to them from heaven. In other words, John knew the source of all things, God the father. John is aware of the testimony about Jesus. John knows who the Messiah is. John also knows how he has been sent and the scope of his ministry. He reveals that he belongs to Jesus by expressing that "the bride belongs to the bridegroom."  John is happy about what Jesus is doing. His joy is complete because Jesus is being manifest just as he had foretold. In the figure of speech John is using, Jesus is the groom, and John is the bride. This means the disciples of John were prepared for Jesus and therefore John the Baptist had no problem having his disciples follow Jesus. John knew also his ministry was coming to conclusion and he needed to hand it over to the groom. John the baptist was happy that Jesus was becoming more popular and greater. John was willing to become small so that Jesus may become greater. This reveals to us how our greatness can easily cover the greatness of our God. Our acts can also cover the acts of God, our testimony can cover the testimony of Christ. According to John, the one who comes from above is above all. This reveals to us that since Jesus came from above, He is above all. He who comes from the earth belongs to the earth and speaks as one from the earth . The one from above testifies to what he has seen and heard, but no one accepts his testimony, However, whoever has accepted it has certified that God is truthful. For the one whom God has sent speaks the words of God, for God gives the Spirit without limit. The Father loves the Son and has placed everything in his hands. Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son will not see life, for God’s wrath remains on them.

In a nutshell, according to the ye witness, John the Baptist, Jesus;

Is greater than John the Baptist.

Is The bridegroom.

Came from above.

Is loved by the Father.

owns all that the Father has.

Now that you know Jesus in the above-mentioned dimensions, what step will you take to respond to this revelation? Ponder about the fact that the father has placed in the hands of Jesus all He has. So you have Jesus, you have everything the Father has! You believe in Him, you have eternal life. Hallelujah!

Jesus,The Teacher.

 John;3;1-21.

Nicodemus, a pharisee of the Jewish ruling council comes to Jesus at night. Probably faring the authorities of the day who were against the teachings of Jesus. Nicodemus goes beyond the common belief of the day and acknowledges that Jesus is a teacher sent from God based on what he saw Jesus doing. Actions speak louder than words. There were so many teachers in the day Jesus met Nicodemus, but their actions did not qualify them to have come from God. Jesus' teaching was accompanied by befitting actions. In other words, God was at work through Jesu as He taught, and therefore, those who heard Him and saw the result of His teachings concluded that, Jesus is a teacher sent from God. Now that Nicodemus acknowledges the fact that Jesus is a teacher sent from God, and that God was with Him, he begins to teach Nicodemus what God expects of us. The big question now is; what did Jesus teach Nicodemus?

The greatest lesson Jesus teaches Nicodemus is; No one can see the kingdom of God unless they are born again. Nicodemus, due to his background environment interprets this as a physical birth and asks; how can someone be born again when they are old? Jesus is teaching the same lesson to everybody who is not born again the same lesson. On most occasions, sinners respond in a similar manner but in a modern version.Jesus' emphasis is that no one can enter the kingdom of God unless they are born of two things; Water and Spirit. For flesh gives birth to flesh, and the Spirit gives birth to spirit.Most sinners are surprised by this kind of teachings for they do not appeal to the flesh but to the Spirit.Most people will not see the possibility of the things Jesus is talking about.However with God all things are possible.The engagement of teacher Jesus with teacher Nicodemus was a unique one.Simply because both were teachers.Nicodemus was a teacher of the Israelites,Jesus was from heaven and He was teaching what He learned from the father.Jesus used earthily things to teach heavenly things,Nicodemus used earthily things to confirm earthily things.Jesus was qualified to teach about heavenly things because he had come from heaven.Moss in the old testament lifted up the snake in the wilderness for the children of Israel to escape minnt death from snake bites,Jesus was also lifted in the wilderness when John the Baptist saw Him and said "behod the Lamb of God who take that sin of the world." This happened practically when Jesus faced the cruel cross and died there sacrificially for our sins.This was the greatest manifestation of love of God to mankind.It was also the greatest intercession ever made by God for mankind.Those who believe in him,rather, those who take what he says to be true and apply it in their life without questioning,they will; i).not perish,ii).have evalasting life.This is powerful.Nobody wants to perish or lack ternal life.The only way to eternal life if to believe in Jesus teaching and also in Jesus Himself.The only way out of destruction is Jesus himself.There are many roads that lead to Rome,but only one to eternal life,Jesus Christ of Nasareth.The fact according to teacher Jesus into eternal lif is;

God loves the world.

God gave His only begotten son.

So that, all may believe in Him and escape the destruction in the world.

And then have eternal life.

Jesus did not come to condemn the world.

He came so as to save the world.

Those who don't believe in him are condemned already.

Light has come into the world.

People love darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil.

Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that their deeds will be exposed.

I urg you in the name of th Lord to desire to learn from teacher Jesus and you will find life eternal in Him.He is the one with words of life and lif will flow from his word to your life dispelling the darkness that may be there in your life.Prayrfully ask the Lord to teach you for he is the best tacher who has ever lived.

Jesus is the Master Builder.

Ref; John;2;12-25.

Jesus goes to Jerusalem when it was almost Jewish Passover. This feast was a yearly practice from the time God delivered the children of Israel from Egyptian bondage. It was a feast signifying and reminding Israelites of their deliverance from Egyptian bondage. When Jesus arrives in Jerusalem He goes straight to the house of His father, the Temple. He is disappointed by the activity of the day because it is contrary to his expectation. The house of His father has been converted to a marketplace, people selling and people buying. This is not different from what we see in most of the houses which bear His name today. We have had whole congregations converted to marketplace places, with all kinds of items on sale in the name of God ranging from, anointing, grace, ministries, favor with senior men of God or with the pastor and church leadership just to mention a few. Jesus swang into action when he noticed the mess which was taking place in the presence of the Lord. He overturned the tables. Scattered the coins of the money changers(Forex in the house of God!). Those selling doves were commanded to remove them from the house of God. When you see too many doves parching in the house of worship, it means there is little worship inside for these birds fear loud voices! Or rather they fear spirited worship! The action of Jesus on that particular day reminds us that, the zeal of the Lord is the one which consumed Him. The zeal of the Lord should consume us. The zeal of the Lord should consume you! We need a renewed passion for the house of God, the church. If you treat the house of God just like any other house, that is with contempt, and the house of God in this context is the church, the assembly of the called-out ones, whether they meet under a tree, in a house, shop, or underground in a cave for those in persecuted regions like China, you are a material to be chased out of the house of God. The Jews are not quick learners as we see their reaction to what Jesus has just done to them. They demand a sign as proof of the authority He has. Jesus answered then with divine wisdom which they could not refute, "Destroy this temple and I will raise it in three days"This is profound. It is mind-boggling. It is above the wisdom of men which is coming to nothing. They thought He was talking about the physical temple, and retorted, "It has taken forty-six years to build this temple, and you are going to raise it in three days?"However, the temple he had spoken of was his body. They come to understand this after they have seen for themselves for thy came to understand this after He rose from the dead. Please note the fact that, when Jesus speaks of raising the temple, it is a prophetic utterance that has a double reference. There is immediate meaning and meaning in the future. The future significance of the destruction of the temple was fulfilled in 70AD when Romans, during the First Jewish-Roman War captured Jerusalem and destroys both the city and the Temple. What remains is the western willing wall seen in my featuring photo which I was taken from the entrance to the western wailing wall. Now while Jesus is at the feast, He does waste time urging about authority or something like that He does great signs in their midst and many believed in Him. Remember this is after he has just turned the tables. He ministers and many believe in Him. Being serious is spiritual. You cannot conform and minister a transformative message at the same time. The people you laugh and joke with, you can't help them out of their mess. Whatever God does, lead us to believe more in Jesus, not in us. Whatever God does through us brings glory to Jesus. Now when God does something through you and you feel like it is due to your much prayer, fasting, study, effort, or something like that, repent and give God the glory for it is Jesus who does the job. You are only a vessel. It is Jesus' building. You are only a tool. It is Jesus who makes the sd to grow, you are only a sower. Jesus would not entrust himself to them, for he knew all people. Never entrust yourself to men. Never look for their testimony about you. When men speak well of you you have a reason to be worried for that is how they praised the false prophets. Let Jesus do the building. Build with Him.Join Him in His activity and allow Him to use you for His glory. Let those who destroy, Jesus will build in a record time. Today, let the zeal of the Lord consume you. Become serious and face lethargy with the seriousness it deserves. Don't laugh or joke when it comes to the issues to do with the house of God. Turn-tables if need be and allow the Lord to raise what needs to be raised.

Jesus Is Glorious.

 Ref; John;2;1-11.

In this Text, we see another perspective of who Jesus is, revealed. This is made possible

through the works He did. The works He did reveal His glory. So Jesus is glorious. This

means that Jesus carries the full deity of God in manly form. The thing, God, had endowed

in the first Adam, His likeness and image which first Adam lost after listening to the evil

one. On the third day, a wedding takes place at Cana of Galilee. Jesus’ mother is

present, and Jesus and his disciples have also been invited to the wedding. They run out of

the wine, then Jesus’ mother says to him, “They have no more wine.”Then Jesus responds

by asking His mother why she was involving Him before his time comes. The mother of

Jesus seems to lack more input on the objections of Jesus, and chooses to emphasize the

importance of paying attention to what Jesus would say.

The writer of the Gospel according to John seems to be an eye witness of what is happening for details of the kind of the jars available are given with an observer's description. Evidently, Jesus choose this situation to reveal His glory by helping out in this situation although his time had not yet come. Jesus then decides to help the situation out and gives direction what needs to be done so that he can help them out. The servants obey without questioning the guidance Jesus is giving. Many times we need Jesus' help but we are unmindful of what He is saying to us. We are like Naaman of the Old Testament, the general in the Syrian army who thought the prophet would simply wave his magical hand and cleanse his leprosy. If we need to see the glory of God in our situations and circumstances of life we need to understand how to take instruction from the Lord and then execute them without questioning. This way we will see the Glory of Jesus in our life. When we learn to take instructions from the Lord ungrudgingly, The Lord uses our obedience to Him to reveal His glory. When His glory is revealed to us through Him meeting us at the point of need, we come to know that Jesus is glorious. Today, if you want to see his glory in the circumstances and situations of your life, just obey Him as He speaks to you through His word in the Holy Scriptures. Are you sick? His word to you is that "I am the Healer."Are you in the bondage of sin? His word to you is that "I am the delivered"Whatever the need He is the answer. Mary said, do what He tells you to do. I say Just do what H tells you to do.

Jesus,The Son of God and King of Israel.

Ref; John;1;43-51.

Jesus leaves for Galilee. He finds Philip and says to Him, "Follow me."Philip like Andrew and Peter was from the town of Bethsaida. One of the most potent words Jesus used to invite people to join Him in what h had come to do was "Follow me." We need to come to the point where we learn to follow. Most of us want to be followed and they have no idea how to follow. If believers are to live to the purpose of which Jesus calls them into, we need to learn to follow Him. This is not walking side by side with Him it is to follow where He leads. When we learn to follow we will always find others who are willing to follow. Phillip finds Nathaniel and tells him, "We have found the one Moses wrote about in the Law, and about whom the Prophets also wrote-Jesus of Nazareth, the Son of Joseph.." When you learn to follow Jesus you will come to know him in the light of the Scriptures. According to Philip, Jesus is the one the Mosaic law and the prophetic writings in the old testament wrote about. Nathaniel asks, can anything good come from Nazareth? Then Philip tells him to come and see. When Jesus saw Nathaniel approaching, he said of him, "Here is a true Israelite, in whom there is nothing false."When Nathaniedesired to go see Jesus, Jesus saw him through to his roots. Jesus recognizes that Nathaniel is a true Israelite. Why did Jesus make this conclusion? Nathaniel was skeptical about what he had been told by Philip. Nathaniel also wanted to confirm the prophetic and Mosaic teaching in the life of Jesu for all Israelites were careful in observing the Law and the prophetic. Nathaniel wonders how Jesus knows him. Then Jesus declares to him, "I saw you while you were still under the fig tree before Philip called you." Where Nathaniel was sitting under the fig tree, is symbolic. When Adam and Eve rebelled against God, they picked fig trees to cover themselves. The nation of Israel is likened to a fig tree. So Nathaniel was sitting under the fig tree waiting for the revelation of what the fig tree meant. Then Nathaniel declared, "Rabbi, you are the son of God; you are the king of Israel." After Nathaniel gets the revelation of the fig tree, he realizes who Jesus is, that Jesus is not just a Rabi, He is the Son of God and the King of Israel. Jesus responds to this declaration and says, "you believe because I told you I saw you under the fig tree. You shall see greater things than that. I tell you the truth, you shall see heaven open, and the angels of God ascending and descending on the Son of Man."This statement by Jesus to Nathaniel, seeing angels ascending and descending draws a parallel in the life of Jacob at Bethel when he had a sleepover and used a stone for a pillow. He saw angels ascending and descending and said that the place was the house of God. Israel is also referred to as the house of God. So Jesus is the Son of God the Father who created all things and that he is the king of the house of God.

Jesus,The Lamb of God!

Text;John 1;29-34;

John the Baptist sees Jesus coming towards him. He says, "Look the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!" In this exclamatory remark, John the baptist defines the purpose of Jesus coming to the world. In fact, Jesus did not just come to the world, He was sent by the father Just like John the Baptist had been sent by the father. Both John the Baptist and Jesus had been sent by the same Father, God, but with a different specific mission to fulfill. Who Jesus was according to John the Baptist defines clearly why He came to do; to take the sin of the world. He would accomplish this through his sacrificial death as the lamb of God. Sin is the root course of all evil there is and it is the tool the devil uses against humanity to alienate them against God. Just as the meek lamb would deal with sin and its consequences, death, through offering himself as a sin offering on the cross.

John the Baptist confirms that this is the one he meant when he said; A man who comes after me has surpassed him because he was before him. John puts clear the deity of Jesus by saying Jesus was before him. John was the voice of God and Jesus was that voice, the word of God. John attests to the fact that he did not know him except that the one who sent him to baptize with water told him. You cannot know Jesus unless God reveals him to you. This is the point John seeks to put clear. The instruction was that the man on whom you see the Spirit come down and remain is the one who will baptize with the Holy Spirit. He saw and testified that this is the Son of God. The Holy Spirit was the witness to confirm the words of John, for at the witness of two or three all truth shall be established.

Today, if you want to deal with the sin factor in your life, take a step of faith and acknowledge the redemptive work Jesus did on the cross. Believe that Jesus died on the cross for your sins, and that he was buried, and that after three days He resurrected with great power after which He appeared to over five hundred people. He then was taken up to heaven in the full view of the eleven apostles.

That I May Know Him!

 John1;1-14.

In the above-quoted text, we see Jesus revealed as the living Word. As the living word, Jesus was

there in the beginning. He was also with God in the beginning. So He is the alpha. He was not only

with God in the beginning, he participated in creation. He is part and parcel of the creating team as

the word portrays to us. When the Bible in Genesis chapter one says, let us make man in our image and

likeness, it shows us that Jesus was there. So Jesus is the channel through which God created all things.

He is also the creator. In him Bible says was life and this life was the light of men. This shows us that

Jesus is the Light of the world. It is amazing how the Bible talks of the first day, second day, third day

in Genesis while the sun and the moon was created on the fourth day. The world was made through

Him. The word became flesh, rather, Jesus is the manifestation of the Word of God .

In this short text we see Jesus as;

  • The living word.
  • Alpha.
  • Omega
  • Creator
  •    Light.
  • The manifested word of God.
Pray this prayer with me;

Heavenly Father, I thank you for revealing to me from John1;1-14 who Jesus is. I receive this revelation

willingly and I acknowledge who Jesus is to me. As the living word, I  allow Him to live in my life. As

the alpha I  allow Him to take preeminence in all things. As the creator, I  allow him to create me

afresh. As the light I  allow Him to shine through me. As the manifested word of God, I  allow Him to

manifest the word of God through me. Heavenly Father, enable me by your grace to have your word

fulfilled in me in Jesus' Name. Amen!
